📋 Description

• Own performance tuning on the StarRocks serving layer using AI-assisted query profiling • Build and harden data pipelines feeding government cloud investigations • Become a second independent operator of the GovCloud serving layer to reduce single-point-of-failure risk • Operate and troubleshoot production data infrastructure • Use AI-assisted debugging and log analysis to triage production issues and identify root causes • Collaborate with Forward Deployed Engineering and Product teams to maintain parity between government cloud and commercial platforms • Participate in weekly incident and infrastructure reviews, async Slack updates, sprint planning, and post-incident retrospectives • Support compliance milestones, runbooks, database migrations, backup/restore pipelines, and audit-log retention changes • Participate in on-call responsibilities

🎯 Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required • Hands-on experience operating distributed OLAP or serving-layer systems such as StarRocks, Trino, ClickHouse, or similar • Experience with query tuning and performance optimization at scale • Experience owning data pipeline reliability and incident response • Comfort using AI tools such as Claude, Cursor, or similar for debugging, code review, and documentation • Ability to independently take ownership of unfamiliar production infrastructure • Ability to use AI-assisted research and code exploration to ramp quickly • Willingness and ability to take on-call responsibility with minimal oversight • Applied AI fluency, evaluated during the interview process • High ownership, adaptability, collaboration, creative problem-solving, and comfort operating in ambiguity
