• Implement commissioning tasks in a client-facing position • Administer commissioning processes for building HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and similar systems from concept design through functional testing and post-occupancy • Support highly technical and complex renovation and new construction projects • Verify systems are designed, installed, and operating according to the basis of design and specified criteria • Review and verify MEP design documents, construction submittals, and sequences of operation • Plan, chair, and document project commissioning meetings • Write detailed system checklists and functional performance operational tests • Conduct site walks and inspections and create site observation visit reports • Direct onsite testing and monitoring of complex and integrated systems • Track and proactively resolve issues with contractors, engineers, and owners • Create professionally formatted reports and project deliverables • Work under senior staff guidance on complex projects and independently lead commissioning teams on less complex projects • Serve regional Midwest areas with approximately 75% travel
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant building science plus two years of relevant experience, or 5 years of equivalent work in MEP systems • Knowledge of MEP systems installation and operation • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Technical writing and detailed document formatting skills • Strong organizational skills and ability to independently track ongoing tasks and project files • Ability to manage tasks and scope within given budgets • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex construction documents and building controls systems • Ability to troubleshoot building system operation and address complex project team dynamics • Microsoft Word, including detailed formatting • Microsoft Excel, including processing and analyzing large amounts of BAS trend data • Network file management • Ability to edit PDF documents • Ability to create formatted layouts preferred • Prior use of commissioning online software preferred • FE passage and progress toward Professional Engineer (PE) preferred • LEED AP and progress toward commissioning certification such as CxA, CCP, or BCxP preferred • Must be near a major metropolitan airport • Preferred cities include Chicago, Louisville, Cincinnati, Nashville, and St. Louis; others may be considered
