• Lead and mentor credentialed veterinary technician and assistant teams across multiple hospitals • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality medicine and enhance patient safety • Elevate the client experience and influence patient outcomes • Improve associate retention and drive hospital performance • Develop top talent and optimize clinical workflows • Implement and uphold current medical standards and best practices in patient care • Educate and mentor hospital teams on advanced medical practices, client communication, and safety protocols • Review medical records and hospital processes for case management and ethical standards • Evaluate and advise on medical equipment needs and strategy • Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and psychologically safe environment • Represent Patient Care Associate needs and perspectives in group-level discussions • Partner with field leadership to drive initiatives, manage resources, and integrate new hospitals • Support hiring, onboarding, and retention of veterinary technicians and assistants • Develop and support training programs for Patient Care Associates • Promote Veterinary Technology as a career path and VCA as a workplace for growth
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a credentialed veterinary technician or in veterinary nursing • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience • Experience with adult learning, presenting, or public speaking is required • Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program • Active license in good standing • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills • Proven ability to mentor and develop talent • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and Microsoft Office • Excellent problem-solving and organizational abilities • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team-based environment • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time to various VCA hospitals and support offices
