• Oversee BIM/VDC coordination for mechanical scopes from kickoff to installation. • Support mechanical project pricing, estimation, and scope changes. • Ensure mechanical models, layouts, and prefabrication drawings meet industry and field standards. • Work closely with mechanical contractors, project managers, and field teams to provide top-tier VDC support. • Own the VDC/BIM process for mechanical scopes, from project setup to execution and final closeout. • Manage mechanical model development, coordination efforts, and installation drawings. • Build and develop the project team to ensure maximum performance, providing purpose, direction, and motivation. • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes. • Oversee and maintain project schedules in collaboration with the Project Coordinator and VDC Specialists. • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation measures. • Lead BIM Coordination Meetings to ensure mechanical layouts align with other trades. • Prepare accurate and strategic cost estimates and project proposals. • Validate constructability, resolve field issues, and support installation teams through site visits. • Analyze project progress and adapt scope, timelines, and costs when necessary. • Monitor and assign resources appropriately to streamline project efficiency and maximize deliverables. • Ensure mechanical models and prefabrication drawings meet contractual and field installation requirements. • Perform clash detection, routing optimization, and conduit coordination in Navisworks and Revit. • Work with mechanical contractors to develop prefabrication strategies, spool drawings, and material takeoffs. • Review shop drawings, submittals, and specifications to ensure compliance and accuracy. • Serve as the primary technical cooperator for mechanical contractors and support cost estimating, scope development, and change order tracking for mechanical VDC work. • Contribute to marketing efforts, proposal development, and industry opportunities.
• 5+ years in VDC/BIM project management for mechanical construction • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing, ductwork, piping HVAC, and installation best practices • Software proficiency in Navisworks, Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Procore, and 3D modeling software • Leadership and team management experience to include managing BIM specialists, remote teams, and project coordination efforts • Ability to work closely with mechanical contractors, project managers, and foremen • Ability to analyze modeling challenges and provide constructible solutions • Take full responsibility for project success, client satisfaction, and team performance.
