• Conduct remote patient triage and support by assessing pet symptoms and medical histories through teletriage • Determine the level of care needed and direct pet owners to appropriate next steps • Provide compassionate client education and support after consultations • Answer questions about symptom management and medication administration • Schedule follow-up appointments or check-ins • Coordinate referrals to in-person clinics for further diagnostics or treatment • Accurately document patient histories and client interactions • Provide emergency virtual triage for urgent cases • Assess whether urgent situations require emergency intervention and advise clients on first steps • Provide technical support for virtual consultations using the Smart.Vet platform • Guide clients through platform use and troubleshoot consultation issues
• Must hold an active registration in Ontario or Alberta • Must be a current member in good standing with the OAVT/ABVTA • Minimum of 3–5 years experience as a Registered Veterinary Technician/Technologist (RVT) • Minimum of 1 year of direct customer service experience • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Proficient in using technology, including computers, virtual consultations, and telehealth platforms • Must have a quiet dedicated workspace at home • Reliable high-speed internet access • Laptop or desktop computer • Capable of exercising sound judgment and problem-solving independently in a remote setting • Must be available to work on weekends • Must successfully pass an internet speed test
