• Manage and maintain Facebook and Instagram content • Publish and schedule regular posts, including short-form video content on YouTube • Develop and recommend platform-specific social media strategies • Plan and maintain an effective content calendar • Provide proactive recommendations on content, posting schedules, engagement, and audience growth • Create Canva graphics and social media carousels • Edit talking-head videos, Reels, B-roll, and short-form videos for Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts • Repurpose existing content when relevant • Ensure visual content aligns with the brand’s style and objectives • Use real photographs, original materials, graphics, and talking-head videos rather than AI-generated images • Respond thoughtfully and professionally to comments and messages • Engage with relevant chocolate, food, festival, and related industry accounts and communities • Interact proactively with chocolate makers, vendors, festivals, and other relevant industry accounts • Conduct influencer research and outreach • Support media research, outreach, and follow-up • Maintain and work through the existing media database • Organize the Canva workspace and existing content library • Review older content for refresh or repurposing opportunities • Maintain an organized system for social media assets, drafts, and published content • Build Alberta-based brand awareness and audience engagement • Shift focus toward festival promotion and ticket sales from December 1 through the April festival • Support promotional and event-related content for two chocolate tasting festivals in April and May • Provide end-of-day reports covering completed tasks, pending work, and items requiring attention
• Senior-level experience in social media management, preferably with demonstrated results • Strong working knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube • Experience creating, editing, scheduling, and publishing social media content • Strong short-form video editing skills, particularly for Reels and YouTube Shorts • Advanced or highly proficient Canva skills • Strong understanding of social media strategy, content planning, audience engagement, and platform-specific best practices • Experience with Meta advertising is an asset • Excellent written communication and ability to engage authentically with online communities • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Able to work independently with minimal supervision • Proactive and comfortable providing ideas, recommendations, and strategic input • Creative and able to bring fresh, current ideas to the brand • Reliable, resourceful, and able to manage priorities independently • Comfortable taking ownership of assigned tasks rather than waiting for detailed instructions • Experience with food, events, festivals, chocolate, hospitality, or lifestyle brands is an asset but not required • Minimum commitment of 10 hours per week • Ability to provide an end-of-day report outlining completed tasks, pending work, and items requiring attention
• Flexible working hours • Initial commitment of minimum 10 hours per week, with potential increase to 15–20 hours per week based on workload and performance
