📋 Description

• Create illustration and apply visual hierarchy to clarify ideas and improve the reader experience • Design story presentations and visual packages across digital platforms • Develop smart, accessible digital storytelling approaches tailored to each platform • Balance speed, creativity and editorial accuracy while working on deadline • Contribute ideas that advance The Post’s visual journalism • Incorporate editorial rigor and design feedback throughout production • Help maintain and evolve The Post’s visual standards across products and platforms • Collaborate with journalists across disciplines on daily news and enterprise projects

🎯 Requirements

• Portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual design skills, creative thinking and interest in journalistic storytelling • Experience designing digital editorial experiences or other content-rich products • Strong command of typography, composition, color and information hierarchy • Excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills • Ability to manage multiple projects and produce high-quality work under deadline pressure • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign • Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma or Adobe XD • Experience with AfterEffects is a plus • Experience with HTML, CSS or JavaScript is a plus • Familiarity with React, Svelte, Angular or Vue is a plus • Experience with illustration, animation, art direction or original visual creation is valued • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends • Résumé, cover letter and portfolio required for application
