📋 Description

• Create and improve detection models to identify unusual transaction patterns and suspicious activities while minimizing false positives • Extract, transform, and analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies related to financial crime • Refine risk-scoring models to quantify the level of AML risk associated with clients • Develop dashboards to provide insights that enhance program effectiveness • Share AML trends and performance with the AML leadership team • Collaborate with product, technology, and compliance teams • Support and strengthen Wealthsimple’s AML program and help stop financial crime

🎯 Requirements

• Strong data skills with applied experience in a risk function like AML or fraud • Experience using SQL to conduct quantitative analysis and synthesizing results into actionable proposals • Experience using AI tools to work faster, and the judgment to know how to validate their output • Ability to develop and communicate stories to both technical and non-technical stakeholders • Ability to internalize and weigh information to come to balanced decisions • Intellectual curiosity and passion for the work • Preferred: experience working in AML or a compliance function • Preferred: experience with data visualization software such as Preset / Superset, Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, etc. • Preferred: experience with databases such as Snowflake, Redshift, MySQL • Legally eligible to work in Canada
