📋 Description

• Build and run Wealthsimple’s internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) program • Shape internal controls around existing processes and develop control frameworks for new products • Own control framework documentation, direct testing, and work with control owners across Finance, Operations, and Engineering • Build the ICFR program with external advisors • Maintain process narratives, RCMs, flowcharts, and test procedures • Plan and direct walkthroughs and testing against the annual ICFR plan • Support control owners in remediating deficiencies • Serve as primary contact for external auditors and coordinate evidence requests, walkthroughs, and remediation • Coordinate control testing for financial reporting audits, SOC 1 audits, and other audits • Assess the impact of business decisions on financial processes, Operations, and Engineering • Work with Technology to develop controls documentation and solutions, including AI-enabled tooling

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in internal controls or audit • Hands-on ICFR experience under SOX or CSOX • Working knowledge of COSO 2013 • CPA designation or equivalent • Experience working in a SOX or CSOX control environment in a public company • Hands-on experience using technology, including AI tools, to document, test, or automate controls • Strong ability to explain the importance of a strong control environment and build awareness • Passion for technology, specifically fintech • Curiosity and ability to investigate issues • Clear communication and ability to articulate complex ideas succinctly and convincingly • Detail-oriented and rigorous approach to reviewing work
