• Serve as trusted advisor and strategic thought partner to the Managing Director and leadership team • Assess competing priorities, emerging issues, risks, dependencies, and strategic trade-offs • Provide objective analysis, recommendations, and escalation support • Coordinate strategic information, issues, decisions, and materials across leadership teams, the Board, and departments • Project manage WES Canada inputs into enterprise-level and global board/leadership reporting • Manage WES Canada Board governance logistics and operations • Coordinate the Managing Director’s internal and external commitments, Board and committee materials, briefings, meetings, and follow-up • Support development and execution of the Managing Director’s annual work plan and WES Canada strategic priorities • Monitor progress, report results, address barriers, and support leadership decision-making • Oversee selected high-priority strategic initiatives, special projects, task forces, and working groups • Oversee executive reporting and dashboards with Finance, Strategy, and departmental leaders • Translate enterprise-wide strategic priorities into Canada-specific execution plans and surface Canada-specific issues upward • Oversee departmental annual budget coordination, including shared services, shared costs, and cross-entity resource allocation • Coordinate communications from the Managing Director, including correspondence, announcements, presentations, talking points, and speeches • Build trusted relationships with department and enterprise leaders • Attend delegated internal and external meetings, briefings, and events on behalf of the Managing Director • Capture insights, coordinate next steps, and brief relevant individuals • Provide people management, oversight, and mentorship for administrative staff • Manage consultants, honoraria, and other WES Canada budget expenses
• A degree in business administration, public administration, nonprofit management, public policy, organizational leadership, or a related field, or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience • 8–10 years of relevant work experience, with strong preference in strategy execution, executive advisory support, organizational leadership, project or program management, policy, or business operations • Exceptional project management skills in a fast-paced environment • Experience managing complex cross-functional initiatives or executive priorities involving multiple senior stakeholders • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and judgment skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including preparing executive correspondence, Board materials, presentations, speeches, briefing notes, and decision papers • Proficiency with PowerPoint slides • Experience developing and monitoring executive work plans, organizational priorities, dashboards, or key performance indicators • Qualitative and quantitative analytical skills • Experience using inclusive and participatory models for strategy development, planning, decision-making, and/or budgeting • Interpersonal skills, tact, diplomacy, and flexibility • Experience building trust and credibility with diverse stakeholder groups • Ability to exercise independent judgment and manage competing priorities under pressure • Strong people management and supervision experience • Proficiency in oral and written French • Multisector experience preferred • Experience with frameworks and models for strategy development, scenario planning, organizational decision-making, performance measurement, and budgeting desired • Experience in public, nonprofit, social impact, regulatory, professional association, or private sectors desired
