📋 Description

• Perform civil estimating and quantity take-offs • Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs • Prepare civil construction estimates, including labour and material costs, using client Excel templates • Develop cost plans and pricing schedules • Develop project programs and construction methodologies to support estimates • Update estimates as project information changes • Support preparation of tender estimates, proposals and tender submissions • Compile and organise estimating information and supporting documentation before submission • Support the Australian team in meeting tender deadlines • Estimate utility infrastructure projects involving drainage, sewer, water and electrical works • Apply expertise to telecommunications, HV electrical and shaft excavation scopes where applicable • Review documentation for water, sewer, drainage and pipeline works • Interpret drawings and construction information to determine quantities and pricing requirements • Maintain accurate estimating documentation, records, tender files and estimating files • Work within Excel-based estimating templates and processes • Review and work from drawings using AutoCAD where required • Participate in Microsoft Teams training workshops covering Australian codes, standards and company processes • Initially focus on quantity take-offs while learning client processes, then progress to full estimates alongside the Australian estimating team

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of commercial experience in civil estimating and/or quantity surveying • Background or qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline • Strong experience preparing quantity take-offs • Experience preparing tender estimates and cost plans • Experience assisting with proposals and tender submissions • Strong experience within utilities and civil infrastructure projects • Strong Microsoft Excel capability, including Advanced Excel for estimating, calculations and associated analysis • AutoCAD proficiency • Experience developing project programs and construction methodologies from estimates • Knowledge of Australian codes and standards is an advantage; training will be provided • Experience with drainage, sewer infrastructure, water infrastructure, electrical and HV electrical, telecommunications, shaft excavations for tunnels, earthworks and roadworks is particularly valuable • Highly accurate and detail-oriented • Commercially aware • Comfortable interpreting technical drawings and specifications • Able to work independently against tender deadlines • Organised when managing multiple estimates or packages • Confident asking questions where documentation is incomplete or unclear • Able to communicate effectively with an Australian estimating and project team • Accountable for the quality and accuracy of work • Looking for a long-term role
