📋 Description

• Assist with complex and significant banking and finance disputes • Draw on AFCA’s specialist resources, research capability and dispute resolution framework • Collaborate with experienced Ombudsmen, lawyers and industry experts • Deliver independent, fair and balanced decisions • Apply sound judgement and analyse complex legal issues • Help resolve matters significant to consumers, small businesses and the financial services sector • Work on a per-engagement basis

🎯 Requirements

• Accomplished senior lawyer, former Partner, barrister, executive legal leader or banking and finance professional • Deep industry expertise, sound judgement and a strong track record of achievement • Experience navigating complex legal and commercial issues • Experience in banking regulation, Banking Codes of Practice, contract law, insolvency, securities, lending and dispute resolution • Ability to thrive in a flexible, per-engagement environment • Ability to communicate with influence and empathy • Ability to balance independence with collaboration • Commitment to fair, objective outcomes and the highest standards of integrity and impartiality • Legal qualifications • Substantial senior-level experience within banking and finance, a tribunal, regulator, external dispute resolution scheme or related environment
