📋 Description

• Assist with complex and significant banking and finance disputes on a per-engagement basis • Apply legal expertise to analyse complex issues and resolve matters of significance • Work collaboratively with experienced Ombudsmen, lawyers and industry experts • Deliver independent, fair and balanced decisions • Contribute to outcomes affecting consumers, small businesses and the financial services sector • Apply sound judgement while maintaining independence, integrity and impartiality

🎯 Requirements

• Legal qualifications • Substantial senior-level experience within banking and finance, a tribunal, regulator, external dispute resolution scheme or a related environment • Deep industry expertise in banking and finance • Sound judgement and a strong track record of achievement • Experience with banking regulation, Banking Codes of Practice, contract law, insolvency, securities, lending and dispute resolution • Ability to navigate complex legal and commercial issues • Ability to communicate with influence and empathy • Ability to balance independence with collaboration • Commitment to fair, objective outcomes and the highest standards of integrity and impartiality • Suitable background as a senior lawyer, former Partner, barrister, executive legal leader or banking and finance professional • Board-appointed three-year term role
