📋 Description

• Assist with complex and significant banking and finance disputes on a per-engagement basis • Apply legal expertise, sound judgement and analysis of complex legal issues • Work collaboratively with experienced Ombudsmen, lawyers and industry experts • Deliver independent, fair and balanced decisions • Contribute to outcomes impacting consumers, small businesses and the financial services sector • Serve as a Board-appointed Ombudsman for a three-year term

🎯 Requirements

• Legal qualifications • Substantial senior-level experience within banking and finance, a tribunal, regulator, external dispute resolution scheme or a related environment • Deep expertise in banking regulation, Banking Codes of Practice, contract law, insolvency, securities, lending and dispute resolution • Sound judgement and a strong track record of achievement • Ability to navigate complex legal and commercial issues with credibility, pragmatism and fairness • Ability to communicate with influence and empathy • Ability to balance independence with collaboration • Commitment to fair, objective outcomes and the highest standards of integrity and impartiality • Accomplished senior lawyer, former Partner, barrister, executive legal leader or banking and finance professional
