📋 Description

• Set technical strategy for the team on a year-long time scale and connect it to critical, business-impacting projects • Lead software engineering for all EU cards • Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle • Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes • Own team operations and availability, including monitoring, triage rotations, playbooks, policies, testing, alerting, and on-call efforts • Establish code review and design standards and advocate for them through writing and tech talks • Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example • Participate in a required on-call rotation • Design, develop, and launch backend systems for cards, including transaction processing, ledgering, and reconciliation systems

🎯 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer • Proficiency designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using technologies such as Python, Kotlin, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes • Proficiency developing front-end applications • Experience delivering major features or system components, or deprecating existing functionality, through technical and execution plans • Ability to write high-quality, understandable, reusable code • Ability to work from low-level language idioms through large-system architecture • Demonstrated growth and impact through gathering and iterating on feedback from engineering and cross-functional peers • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team • Must be based in Spain • Must participate in an on-call rotation
