Agence de la biomédecine is a French public agency responsible for national oversight, regulation and coordination of activities in biomedicine and related public-health domains. It manages and monitors organ and tissue donation and transplantation, bone marrow and cord blood donation, assisted reproduction and gamete donation, medical genetics, prenatal and preimplantation diagnosis, embryo research, biovigilance (organs, tissues, cells and breast milk), and thematic observatories such as chronic kidney disease and neuroscience developments. The agency produces reports and key performance data, runs national registries and public information and professional-training activities, and informs Parliament, Government and stakeholders on scientific, ethical and regulatory implications of advances in biomedicine.

📋 Description

• Provide leadership and support within a geographical area, working as part of a team with physicians, nurse network coordinators and a medical activities assistant • Coordinate organ and tissue donor cases, including overnight, weekend and public holiday on-call duties • Implement the Agency’s policy in the Réunion region • Participate in Level 2 regulatory on-call duties, working groups, audits of hospital coordination teams and living donor expert committees • Evaluate activity and submit a monthly summary to the DPGOT Steering Committee • Define objectives for regional missions • Participate in reporting, analyze incidents and contribute to biovigilance initiatives • Alert the relevant hospital authority in the event of an incident, anomaly or situation presenting a risk • Promote donation for transplantation and raise public awareness • Participate in cooperation initiatives with other institutions • Establish, maintain and monitor hospital coordination networks • Help lead meetings and provide training for healthcare professionals • Support transplant teams and help hospital coordination teams develop their skills and implement best-practice recommendations • Represent the Agency before regional administrative bodies, healthcare institutions, regional health agencies and healthcare professionals • Advise physicians and hospital coordination teams throughout the donation and procurement process • Validate donor and graft eligibility • Collaborate with DPGOT departments, executive management and the Communications Department

🎯 Requirements

• Medical degree and medical license • Ideally specialized in anesthesiology and critical care, intensive care or emergency medicine • Sound knowledge of organ and tissue donation and transplantation • At least two years’ experience in these fields, intensive care or transplantation • Good understanding of healthcare system organization, healthcare institution operations and public health issues • Compliance with professional practice evaluation requirements • Proficiency in standard office software • Strong communication skills, particularly for delivering training, facilitating networks and giving presentations • Autonomy, availability, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to prioritize and make decisions • Respect for confidentiality obligations and the institution’s official position • Team spirit, active listening, diplomacy, organizational skills and ability to supervise others • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Mandatory public declaration of interests
