📋 Description

• Work closely with the game production team to define, conceptualise, and iterate new game visions • Participate in design reviews, team meetings, and brainstorming sessions • Lead new games from start to finish, including conceptual development and blueprints for theme, narrative, animations, sequencing, structure, and production • Present concepts clearly to teams and stakeholders • Execute concepts and established game visions • Collaborate with game art directors, art teams, producers, developers, sound designers, and other contributors • Prepare structured game specifications and supervise implementation • Provide quality control over design outputs and production • Guide teams on game direction and specifications • Adjust designs based on stakeholder feedback and technical constraints • Review proposed designs and requirements for dependencies and interaction effects • Playtest games extensively and verify implementation against the creative vision • Ensure visuals, graphics, animations, music, and sound effects work cohesively for players • Define and evolve game direction across titles while supporting innovation • Incorporate branding into games and broader corporate branding strategy • Consider how games fit the business design language and support sequels or series • Develop creative concepts aligned with business objectives and brand strategy • Analyze competitor approaches and identify useful elements • Streamline the game production pipeline for reliable, high-quality delivery • Evaluate technologies that augment game direction pipelines • Monitor design trends and tools in gaming and entertainment • Provide feedback on the overall roadmap and design strategy

🎯 Requirements

• Must have worked in a game direction capacity designing real money gaming slots • Must have led game projects that shipped outstanding products for one or more major AAA land-based or digital slot manufacturers • Substantial body of work demonstrating understanding of and respect for players • Ability to polish static artwork, animations, micro-animations, music, and SFX into compelling player experiences • Ability to direct hands-on and produce clear specifications and guidelines • Strong storyboarding ability • Comfortable working with game designers and mathematicians to develop conceptual mechanics • Understanding of game mechanics and mathematics • Familiarity with hierarchical game structures and symbol hierarchy • Ability to communicate excitement, anticipation, and relative value clearly to players • Ability to work with a wide variety of art styles • Understanding of technical constraints and ability to work around them • Graphic design, motion graphics, animation, or video experience is a plus • Technical background or knowledge is ideal • Understanding of how developers build interfaces and the challenges they face
