📋 Description

• Own the data tier supporting the platform, including denormalized read models and snapshot tables for low-latency patient views • Tune queries and indexes using execution plans and Query Store at production data volume • Build and operate ETL, change data capture, and delta refresh pipelines across EHR, HIE, claims, and pharmacy sources • Define and publish data freshness service levels and accurate as-of dates for each data source • Implement shared cohort and risk-scoring data layers with consistent values across consuming screens • Own de-identification and synthetic data generation to keep offshore development environments free of protected health information • Deliver versioned, gated database migrations through Flyway or an equivalent CI-integrated tool • Build data quality and reconciliation checks to detect broken feeds before stale data reaches clinicians • Partner with the architect on SQL Server workload management, including Resource Governor and readable secondary routing • Serve as the critical data-engineering owner and escalation point while collaborating with clients and cross-functional teams

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent experience • Native or bilingual fluency in written and spoken English; daily client-facing communication required • 6+ years of professional data engineering or database engineering experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL • Expert-level advanced T-SQL, including window functions, set-based rewriting of procedural logic, and query plan-aware design • Expert-level index design across covering, filtered, and columnstore indexes, with demonstrated production-volume tuning results • Strong execution plan analysis skills and practical experience with Query Store, Extended Events, Resource Governor, and readable secondaries • Experience designing denormalized read models, snapshot tables, and materialized aggregates for low-latency read paths • Experience with Flyway or an equivalent versioned migration tool inside a CI pipeline • Experience with healthcare data, including claims, HIE feeds, pharmacy or Surescripts data, and PHI de-identification techniques • Working knowledge of .NET and C# sufficient to review and influence the data access layer • Excellent problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and customer relationship skills • Experience with Redis or another distributed cache is a plus • Experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Data Factory, or Databricks is a plus
