📋 Description

• Take ownership of the existing third-party casino platform architecture • Untangle architectural complexities and design robust solutions • Lead the transition to in-house infrastructure and a unified, high-performance codebase • Design and evolve scalable architectures for sportsbook, casino, and game studios • Build systems capable of handling massive traffic spikes and real-time data pipelines • Define service boundaries and establish API contracts • Lead Proofs of Concept (POCs) • Contribute to the architectural vision of proprietary internal tools and other initiatives • Assist in hiring backend engineers while maintaining primary ownership of high-level architecture

🎯 Requirements

• At least 2–3 years as an Architect • 8+ years building high-volume, high-availability distributed systems • Strong backend engineering experience with specific experience in Golang • Proven experience designing architecture for iGaming, fintech, e-commerce, or similar platforms • Mastery of AWS/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Terragrunt) • Ability to lead through technical authority as a hands-on problem solver • Flexibility to travel to Malta once a quarter if based in another European country • Experience in iGaming, sportsbook, or fintech (wallets, odds, or bonus engines) is a plus • Knowledge of PCI-DSS or gaming regulatory standards is a plus • Experience with multi-region cloud deployments is a plus
