📋 Description

• Develop and implement transaction monitoring algorithms for anti-money laundering, terrorism financing, sanctions and other compliance risks • Analyze and investigate alerts from fiat and cryptocurrency transactions, including on-chain and off-chain trades, deposits and withdrawals • Mitigate platform risk exposure and escalate urgent alerts according to risk appetite • Assist the Manager Transaction Monitoring with periodic specific and general reports identifying ML, TF and Sanctions-related anomalies • Report directly to the Manager of Transaction Monitoring • Collaborate with AML Investigators, Product teams, Compliance leadership and other Bitfinex teams • Investigate fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing and sanctions risks • Analyze and evaluate data for referrals of unusual transaction activity • Ensure KYC/AML/CTF and Sanctions activities comply with applicable policies, laws and regulations • Identify and coordinate process improvements relating to KYC/AML/CTF and Sanctions policies • Conduct initial assessments of unusual transaction activity referrals • Report unusual documentation, information, queries and transactions to the Manager • Adjust risk parameters to keep exposure within the platform’s risk appetite • Participate in compliance training • Carry out cross-departmental communication • Liaise with AML Analysts and users to obtain additional information for ML/TF concern verification • Evaluate and communicate findings and decisions to case stream team leaders • Escalate or discuss matters with the Head of Investigations when required

🎯 Requirements

• Experience in the compliance field within the Industry • Fair understanding or ability to understand AML/KYC/CTF related policies, laws and regulations, including enhanced due diligence (CDD/EDD) and Sanctions • Basic knowledge of blockchain technology • CAMS/CBP designation • Experience with a Blockchain Analytical/Transaction Monitoring tool such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, TRM, etc. • University degree • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to source and understand the content of documentation in various languages, types and forms • Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills • Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy and consistency • Self-motivated (ability to take initiative) • Proficient IT skills (Chrome, Open Search, Google Docs, Gmail, Word, Excel, etc.) • Organisational understanding (enhanced in the role) • Preferred timezones are APAC or LATAM for this position
