📋 Description

• Define and drive the architecture, technical strategy, and engineering roadmap for Billing & Fees services • Architect and build fee policy configuration, fee calculation, invoice generation, billing adjustments, and reconciliation services • Design data pipelines and integrations connecting Snowflake, Salesforce, Ledger, and internal financial services • Establish patterns for financial correctness, idempotency, traceability, reconciliation, exception handling, and audit trails • Lead technical design submissions, architecture reviews, and service design using domain-driven, hexagonal, and event-driven patterns • Design, build, and review production code; mentor engineers and raise engineering standards • Collaborate with Product, Finance, Commercial, Back Office, Ledger, Digital Assets, and Fiat teams • Establish observability, monitoring, performance, incident response, service recovery, and operational resilience standards • Drive testing, CI/CD, documentation, technical debt management, and consistent high-quality delivery

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of backend software engineering experience, with strong hands-on expertise in Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot, including experience leading technical initiatives or providing technical leadership to other engineers • Experience designing and delivering complex, distributed, production-grade systems • Strong understanding of microservices, event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS), relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), and Redis • Experience with financially sensitive systems such as billing, invoicing, payments, ledger, fee calculation, or reconciliation platforms • Strong architectural expertise in domain-driven design, hexagonal architecture, service decomposition, bounded contexts, and asynchronous communication patterns • Ability to own technical architecture and drive engineering decisions • Strong RESTful API design experience, including backwards compatibility and integration patterns • Understanding of transactional consistency, idempotency, error recovery, and reconciliation in distributed environments • Experience mentoring and guiding engineers through technical design, code reviews, problem-solving, and complex delivery challenges • Experience operating business-critical systems, participating in on-call rotations, managing incidents, and using Grafana, Prometheus, and Micrometer • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, automated testing, and modern software delivery practices • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across Engineering, Product, Finance, and Commercial teams • Comfortable as both a hands-on engineer and technical leader
