📋 Description

• Train and provide ongoing evaluation and development of teachers and missionaries. • Provide individual coaching and continuing in-service training through weekly meetings. • Provide teachers with materials and policy information. • Observe and evaluate missionaries and teachers. • Facilitate teacher improvement opportunities. • Assist in training new teachers before classroom experience. • Ensure teachers understand and effectively teach approved MTC curriculum. • Lead updates or new MTC curriculum development. • Fill in as a classroom teacher when needed. • Advocate for missionary well-being and individual needs. • Lead teachers in creating an ideal learning environment. • Handle day-to-day supervisory matters and disciplinary issues with the Manager of Training. • Recommend teacher merit increases and dismissals. • Coordinate with other Lead Teachers regarding common employees. • Report missionary progress and teacher performance to the Manager of Training. • Assist with interviewing, evaluating teaching and language capacities, and making hiring decisions. • Assist in area training meetings and coordinating training resources. • Assess proficiency levels of missionaries and teacher applicants in the target language when requested. • Perform MTC Teacher responsibilities and other temporary MTC duties as needed.

🎯 Requirements

• 6 months experience as an MTC teacher • Must be a returned missionary • Must be fluent in a non-native language (except for English or ESL area assignment). • Demonstrates knowledge of MTC language learning strategies and methodologies • Must have a solid understanding of MTC training principles, demonstrate problem-solving and organizational abilities, and have exceptional training competence. • Must communicate effectively • Demonstrates the ability to handle pressure well. • Must have technology skills to adequately function in the MTC environment. • Must have exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills. • Must have a solid understanding of Preach My Gospel • Demonstrates encouraging attitude, proactivity and self-motivation • Experience having served as a missionary • Physical requirements may include sitting for long periods of time and using monitors/equipment. • Preferred: 1 year of experience with teaching, training, or tutoring in any capacity
