📋 Description

• Assess existing .NET Framework applications, including dependencies, integration points, and data access patterns • Produce modernization plans with sequencing and risks identified • Modify application code to support PostgreSQL as the backend • Untangle and port legacy ADO.NET and older Entity Framework data access layers • Migrate database workloads from Oracle to PostgreSQL, including schema conversion, PL/SQL-to-PL/pgSQL translation, data type and collation mismatches, query rewrites, and performance validation • Use AI coding agents for codebase inventory, discovery, characterization test generation, PL/SQL-to-PL/pgSQL translation, and code review, with human validation • Write characterization, integration, and automated old-versus-new comparison tests • Work with client architects, DBAs, and product owners • Explain trade-offs in plain language and document technical decisions • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and observability • Mentor mid-level developers and review code for maintainability

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software development experience, with significant depth in C# and .NET • Strong, current working knowledge of .NET Framework 4.8 and its legacy stack — ASP.NET MVC/Web API, Web Forms, WCF, IIS, and Windows Services • Demonstrated experience modernizing or migrating existing applications, not just greenfield development • Solid relational database skills: writing and tuning SQL, reading execution plans, understanding transaction and isolation behaviour • Hands-on Oracle experience — PL/SQL, packages, procedures, triggers, and sequences • Hands-on, practical experience using AI coding agents in real delivery work, including agent-assisted discovery, test generation, or code translation/review • Experience with source control, branching strategy, and CI/CD in a team setting, such as Git, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions • Ability to communicate clearly with non-engineers and work well when requirements are incomplete • Advanced, intermediate, or beginner English level options are listed in the application questions
