📋 Description

• Lead, mentor and grow a team of Java Engineers • Set priorities and own delivery for the domain while remaining hands-on in the code • Design and implement modern Java backend services for wallet transactions, ledger entries, payment flows, bonus mechanics and account state management • Build REST APIs and event-driven integrations consumed by player-facing products, operations tooling and third-party providers • Write code with strong test coverage, idempotent operations, careful transaction boundaries and clear failure handling • Implement KYC/AML workflows, responsible gaming controls and audit trails • Instrument services with metrics, structured logging, tracing and alerting • Participate in the on-call rotation • Contribute to design discussions and RFCs • Review teammates' code • Use AI-assisted development tooling according to platform standards • Support migration from the current third-party platform through parity testing, data migration checks and cutover support

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience • Deep hands-on experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot • 2+ years managing or leading a team of software engineers while staying hands-on • Experience building and operating transactional systems such as payments, wallets, billing, banking, e-commerce checkout or gaming • Strong PostgreSQL or similar experience, including schema design, transactions, locking behavior and query performance • Experience with event-driven patterns and messaging such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, including idempotency and retry semantics • Unit, integration and contract testing experience • Experience with containers and CI/CD pipelines • Ability to read production telemetry and debug real incidents • Good written and spoken English • Ability to work effectively in a distributed, multi-time-zone team
