📋 Description

• Manage and provide technical oversight of emergency response and recovery projects throughout the project cycle • Ensure project design, start-up, implementation, and close-out align with CRS quality principles, donor guidelines, and industry best practices • Manage talent, supervise staff, support team well-being, coach direct reports, and complete performance management • Oversee technical assistance and capacity strengthening for staff and partner organizations • Lead program learning, research, publications, MEAL policy implementation, and dissemination of lessons learned • Integrate innovations and best practices into programming • Pursue new funding opportunities and support growth of the emergency response and recovery portfolio • Serve as technical lead and writer for emergency response and recovery proposals • Contribute to proposal budgets and staffing plans • Identify, assess, and strengthen relevant partnerships • Ensure timely project expenditures and responsible stewardship of project resources • Represent CRS in working groups, clusters, donor engagements, and stakeholder forums • Support hazard and risk mapping, response planning, MEAL readiness, donor communication, rapid response, and readiness efforts

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in international development, International Relations, Community Development, or WASH, shelter, livelihoods, or food security required • Minimum of 2 years' relevant field-based project management experience • Experience managing moderately complex projects • Experience in an international NGO • Experience working closely with local partner organizations • Located in or able to cover Eastern and Southern Africa time zones • MEAL skills and experience • Staff management experience and abilities conducive to a learning environment • Experience using MS Windows, MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), web conferencing applications, and information management systems • Experience in project grants management, preferably for multiple public donors including the U.S. government and UN • Demonstrated ability to write high-quality technical proposals • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Strong relationship-management abilities • Good presentation and facilitation skills • Proficiency in written and verbal English required • French and Portuguese preferred • Ability and willingness to travel at least 50% of the time, often at very short notice • Capacity to live and work in difficult/stressful environments • Master's degree in relevant fields preferred • At least 1 year of emergency programming experience preferred
