📋 Description

• Build strong relationships with external suppliers, external customers, and internal customers and stakeholders • Coach and mentor Cummins professionals on relationship-building, APQP execution, auditing, and problem resolution • Support cross-functional external supply base strategies and supplier selection processes • Provide manufacturing consultation to suppliers to design Right First Time manufacturing processes • Apply APQP processes, AIAG tools, and Cummins specialty tools to develop zero-defect components • Lead complex product- and process-focused continuous-improvement projects using lean and six-sigma methodologies • Conduct external supplier audits for supplier risk mitigation, readiness, and performance improvement • Lead complex quality improvement plans within the external supply base • Lead root cause analysis, support corrective-action development, and verify corrective-action effectiveness • Develop and execute supplier quality plans and facilitate cross-functional collaboration • Evaluate supplier product design, manufacturing process design, and product validation for reliability expectations

🎯 Requirements

• College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject required • Strong understanding of SMT (Surface Mount Technology) processes, including solder paste printing, SPI control, placement, and reflow soldering profiles and defect mechanisms • Solid knowledge of DIP (Through-hole / Wave Soldering), including wave soldering parameters, selective soldering, and typical defects • Familiarity with electronic assembly processes, manual assembly and workmanship standards such as IPC-A-610, torque control, ESD protection, and cleaning processes • Understanding of ICT, FCT, AOI, and X-ray inspection principles and coverage • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles and Engineering Standards • Knowledge of manufacturing technology, methods, techniques, tools, equipment, and measurement technology • Knowledge of ISO9001:2015 and IATF16949 quality standards • Knowledge of APQP, DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, Source Release, and PPAP • Preferably 7 years experience in a Manufacturing or Engineering role in the automotive industry or a similarly regulated industry • Position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
