📋 Description

• Provide enterprise-level operational leadership for one of two Canadian franchisee regions • Drive sales growth, transaction momentum, franchisee profitability, compliance, and execution of company standards • Develop, communicate, and execute rolling one-, two-, and three-year Operations business plans • Create annual performance goals linked to sales growth, transaction performance, and franchisee health • Guide integrated business plans across marketing, operations, training, development, and supply chain • Ensure franchisees establish disciplined annual business plans with growth commitments, reinvestment priorities, and accountability milestones • Monitor progress and goal achievement • Lead marketing performance through partnerships with departments, vendors, and franchisees • Represent Operations in cross-functional problem solving and growth projects • Oversee food safety, approved products, procedures, menu compliance, trademark protection, reinvestments, customer satisfaction, and company standards • Manage the performance and health of the regional franchisee portfolio • Visit franchisee stores and districts with business consultants • Handle escalated franchisee matters, including defaults and potential franchise termination decisions • Respond to customers and franchisees while reinforcing operational and growth expectations • Coach, support, and advise business consultants • Guide franchisee training, professional development, shift management, food safety, quality, service, cleanliness, maintenance, and atmosphere goals • Hire, build, and support a high-performance team of Business Consultants • Establish performance expectations, monitor results, coach employees, initiate corrective action, and recognize contributions • Remove roadblocks and support staff with day-to-day growth execution problems • Maintain a positive and ethical work climate • Interview prospective and existing franchisees for development and expansion assessments • Review potential real estate sites and provide feasibility input • Provide opinions or sign-off on franchisee and real estate acceptability for the Development Review Committee • Develop the regional operating budget and profit plan • Guide cross-functional corporate projects or committees as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• B.A. or B.S. Degree in Business, Restaurant Management or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience • 10+ years of progressively responsible related experience • Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate franchise management operations • Franchise operations experience and/or restaurant management experience with direct P&L responsibility for multi-unit geographically dispersed operations • Minimum 3–5 years managing employees • Experience managing franchise operations professionals preferred • Experience building high-performance teams, establishing expectations, monitoring results, coaching employees, and providing feedback • Ability to lead geographically dispersed teams • In-depth knowledge of the restaurant industry and restaurant operations; QSR preferred • Proficient knowledge of marketing, finance, and training • Experience creating and managing an operating budget • Experience working within a franchisor organization, preferably a QSR brand • Strong knowledge of restaurant operations • Demonstrated track record of driving sales and transaction growth in complex, franchised, or multi-unit environments • Ability to influence without authority and lead franchisees through performance change • Strong business acumen and ability to translate data into priorities and field execution • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint • Strong communication, public speaking, and presentation skills • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional departments • Ability to multitask, prioritize, make timely decisions, and use data to inform decisions • Demonstrated strategic operations leadership ability • Highest level of integrity and professional behavior • Willingness to travel approximately 60% throughout the year • No food or beverage allergies that would prevent tasting or working in and around a Dairy Queen restaurant environment • ServeSafe certification • Extensive sitting due to business travel in cars and airplanes
