📋 Description

• Build features, improve reliability and help shape the Polyant open-source, self-hosted AI-agent runtime • Work across the administration interface, runtime, database and release pipeline • Take ownership of defined product areas in collaboration with the team • Design and deliver features end to end, from data models and APIs to UI, tests and documentation • Make technical decisions and balance user value, implementation effort, reliability and maintenance cost • Develop agent capabilities including tool execution, context management, retrieval and memory • Protect the multi-tenant platform through authorization, data isolation, input validation and careful review • Build regression tests and agent evaluations using traces, latency and cost measurements • Maintain dependable releases through CI/CD, safe database migrations and deployment practices • Investigate production issues and learn from failures • Use AI coding agents deliberately and verify generated code • Propose product improvements and share experiments, decisions and findings with the team • Research and experiment with agent behavior, retrieval, memory and evaluation, turning promising results into maintainable product capabilities

🎯 Requirements

• Track record of delivering and maintaining production software, with explainable decisions and outcomes • Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills • Practical React experience and ability to work across backend and frontend • Experience with relational databases, API design, authentication and authorization • Sound software design, debugging and refactoring skills • Automated testing and code review experience • Practical experience with LLM APIs and agent workflows, including tool calling, structured output, context limits, cost and latency considerations • Evidence-based approach to reliability, testing uncertain behavior and investigating failures • Practical use of AI coding tools and ability to critically review generated output • Experience with Git, CI/CD and software deployment • Willingness to take responsibility for software behavior after release • Clear written communication • Fluent professional Italian and working English • Based in Italy • Useful additional experience: Next.js, NestJS, Drizzle ORM, PostgreSQL/pgvector, Docker or AWS CDK • Useful additional experience with retrieval systems, embeddings, hybrid search, chunking or reranking • Useful additional experience with agent evaluation, tracing, context compaction, lifecycle hooks, guardrails or MCP • Useful additional experience with multi-tenant or self-hosted products, open-source contributions or developer-facing tools
