📋 Description
• Answer calls professionally and act in accordance with the Interpreter’s code of conduct • Be prepared to take notes during calls • Be familiar with the industry-specific vocabulary (healthcare and medical) • Convey all messages accurately and completely • Deliver the highest level of customer service during interpretation • Facilitate communication between limited-French-proficient individuals and clients by providing accurate and complete interpretation of messages • Apply professional standards of practice • Participate in internal professional training • Be motivated to obtain new professional certifications • Communicate with and report to your team leader • Comply with dress code requirements for video remote interpreting
🎯 Requirements
• Fluent in the source language (French) and native-level in the target language (Kinyarwanda) • At least 1 year of over-the-telephone interpretation experience with a reputable interpreting company • Good knowledge of medical terminology • Awareness of legal terminology is a plus • International healthcare certifications are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA) • High school diploma in your native language • High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance • Strong communication, active listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
