📋 Description

• Answer calls professionally and adhere to the Interpreter's Code of Conduct. • Always be prepared to take notes during calls. • Be familiar with industry-specific vocabulary, particularly healthcare and medical terminology. • Render all messages accurately and completely without adding, omitting, or substituting information. • Provide the highest level of customer service while interpreting. • Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient (LEP) individuals and clients by delivering accurate and complete interpretation of messages. • Apply professional standards of practice. • Participate in internal professional training programs. • Be eager to obtain additional professional certifications. • Communicate and report to your team leader. • Comply with dress code requirements for video remote interpreting (VRI).

🎯 Requirements

• Fluent in the source language (English) and native-level proficiency in Portuguese (Brazilian and European varieties). • At least 1 year of over-the-phone interpretation experience with a recognized interpreting company. • Strong knowledge of medical terminology. • Familiarity with legal terminology is a plus. • International healthcare-related certifications are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA). • High school diploma or equivalent in your native country/language. • High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity. • Strong communication, active listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
