📋 Description

• Answer calls professionally, following the interpreter’s code of conduct. • Be prepared to take notes during calls. • Be familiar with the specific vocabulary used in the industry you are interpreting for (specifically healthcare and medical terminology). • Convey all messages accurately and completely, without adding, omitting, or substituting information. • Provide the highest level of customer service during interpreting sessions. • Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and clients by delivering accurate and complete interpretation of messages. • Apply standards of practice. • Participate in internal professional training. • Be willing to pursue additional professional certifications. • Communicate and report to your team leader. • Comply with dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.

🎯 Requirements

• Fluent in the source language (English) and native-level proficiency in the target language (Brazilian and European Portuguese). • 1+ years of over-the-telephone interpretation experience with a recognized interpretation company. • Good knowledge of medical terminology. • Familiarity with legal terminology is a plus. • International certifications in the healthcare industry are a plus (PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.). • High school diploma or equivalent. • High emotional intelligence and tolerance for different cultures. • Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
