📋 Description
• Answer calls in a professional manner, acting in accordance with the Interpreter’s code of conduct • Be prepared to take notes during a call • Be familiar with the specific vocabulary of the industry you work with (especially healthcare/medical) • Render all messages accurately and completely, without adding, omitting, or substituting information • Provide the highest level of customer service during interpreting • Facilitate communication between Limited English Proficient (LEP) clients and the client organization by delivering accurate and complete interpretations • Apply standards of practice • Complete internal professional training • Be willing to obtain new professional certifications • Communicate and report to your team leader • Comply with dress code requirements for video remote interpreting (VRI)
🎯 Requirements
• Native-level Portuguese (Brazilian or European) and fluent in English • Minimum 1 year of over-the-phone interpretation (OPI) experience with a reputable interpreting company • Good knowledge of medical terminology • Familiarity with legal terminology is a plus • International healthcare certifications are a plus (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA) • High school diploma (secondary education) • High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity • Strong communication, active listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills
