📋 Description

• Develop MAIA, an AI platform for companies • Own features from prototype through continuous improvement using feedback and usage data • Shape chat and agent experiences for multi-step tasks with traceable progress and verifiable results • Connect external systems and make knowledge from varied file formats usable • Ensure answers include sources and respect existing access rights • Integrate new language models and compare quality, cost, and speed • Build evaluations to detect errors and improve answers and agents • Build isolated environments for running code and tools • Improve response times and data processing for large knowledge bases • Collaborate with product management to refine concepts and solve problems • Participate in agentic development, reviewing coding-agent plans and results critically

🎯 Requirements

• Backend software engineering experience building, shipping, and operating production systems over a longer period • Familiarity with architecture, API design, data modelling, and asynchronous processing • Very strong proficiency in at least one of TypeScript, Python, or Go; ideally one statically typed language • Practical experience building real applications with LLMs, professionally or in complex personal projects • Practical knowledge of RAG, embeddings, vector search, and tool calling, including their limitations • Experience testing and evaluating nondeterministic systems • Product-oriented approach and ability to contribute to early concepts • Experience with coding agents in daily development work • Security mindset, including tenant isolation, access rights, and secure development • Proactive remote communication and documentation • Clear communication of technical topics to product management, customer success, and sales • Fluent English • German is a plus • Must live in Germany • No people management responsibility required
