📋 Description

• Translate product ideas into concrete technical solutions • Assess architecture, models, interfaces, risks, and dependencies • Develop production-grade AI applications and agentic systems • Integrate AI applications into existing applications, data flows, and system landscapes • Consider evaluation, monitoring, security, and costs from the outset and remain responsible for them after go-live • Own the quality and release of production systems • Make implementation decisions within engineering standards • Turn AI ideas and prototypes into production-ready systems • Take responsibility for what goes into production and how reliably it operates • Ensure measurable impact after go-live • As a Senior Engineer: Own the architecture of an AI system or domain • As a Senior Engineer: Design solutions in direct collaboration with customers • As a Senior Engineer: Share knowledge and create reusable solutions for the team • Provide recommendations on deviations from standards, model selection with cost or data protection implications, and project priorities • Submit a professional statement covering your motivation, challenges, overlooked aspects, and an LLM, RAG, or agentic application you played a significant role in developing or owning • Describe how models, retrieval, tools, and agents were selected, integrated, evaluated, and operated after go-live

🎯 Requirements

• Several years of experience developing production software • As a Senior Engineer: Experience owning systems, domains, and architectural decisions through to operations • Production experience with LLM, RAG, or agentic applications—not just prototypes • As a Senior Engineer: Technical ownership of such a system • Use AI agents as an integral part of the engineering workflow, with review loops and clear accountability for production outcomes • Strong backend development skills • Confidence working with APIs and system integration • Knowledge of testing, security, and operations • Ability to assess and provide well-founded recommendations on the effort, value, feasibility, and risks of AI options • As a Senior Engineer: Design solutions directly with customers • Share knowledge within the team and during reviews • As a Senior Engineer: Technically mentor other engineers and create reusable solutions • An instinct for whether an AI feature genuinely helps users • Fluent German for customer-facing work • Proficient English • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, TypeScript, Node.js/NestJS, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, REST/GraphQL, Python, vector databases, evaluation frameworks, observability tools, MCP, impact measurement, data analysis, cost and quality management for AI systems, the EU AI Act, data protection, and AI labeling
