📋 Description

• Act as the primary preparer for month-end and quarter-end close calendars, checklists, and reconciliations. • Lead the accounting team in monthly and quarterly close flux presentations with management. • Own payroll accounting functions, including processing, reconciliation, compliance, and reporting. • Design and implement accounting procedures, internal controls, and compliance mechanisms aligned with policies and regulations. • Drive accounting process improvements focused on automation, efficiency, and scaling for company growth. • Develop and maintain technical accounting expertise in payroll accounting compliance, processes, and controls. • Draft accounting policies using US GAAP technical accounting guidance and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders. • Identify inefficiencies in existing accounting processes and design innovative solutions. • Partner with external auditors to facilitate audits and complete deliverables on time. • Assist with processing employee equity grants.

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in startup or high-growth environments, including 3+ years of experience in a public company. • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. • CPA certification (or equivalent) preferred. • Demonstrated experience with payroll accounting and related compliance requirements. • Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives and system implementations. • Proficiency in NetSuite or similar accounting software, with experience in financial systems integration. • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams. • Keen attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. • Ability to work independently, identify issues, and implement solutions without significant oversight. • Strong analytical skills for synthesizing complex financial information into actionable insights. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. • Experience in a fast-paced startup environment, particularly in the technology sector, may be advantageous. • Experience leading accounting system implementations or major upgrades may be advantageous. • Experience developing and documenting scalable processes may be advantageous. • Experience creating automation solutions for accounting workflows may be advantageous. • Experience thriving in ambiguity and developing structure in unstructured environments may be advantageous. • Proven track record of identifying inefficient processes and implementing innovative solutions may be advantageous. • Proactive approach to anticipating and solving problems may be advantageous. • Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical execution may be advantageous.
