📋 Description

• Lead technology programs by defining milestones and success criteria, allocating resources, and ensuring on-time delivery • Mentor and train team members on design techniques and coding standards • Communicate schedules, priorities and status to the Engineering Lead • Own the full software lifecycle from requirements analysis through design, implementation, testing and integration • Collaborate with architecture, product and support teams • Own the development and support of payroll and HR features • Own platform security, stability and efficiency • Exercise technical judgment across multiple cross-functional teams • Develop tools and processes to improve engineering productivity, including build pipelines and infrastructure/application deployment • Monitor and resolve platform stability, efficiency and production alert issues • Ensure technical solutions meet development standards and are fit for purpose • Ensure consistent use of shared platform components and technologies • Liaise with the Product Owner and Technical Architect on technical solutions, functionality, scalability and performance • Facilitate automated test environments to ensure code quality • Help define technical strategy, roadmaps and migration plans • Support engineers in planning, prioritising and executing tasks within deadlines • Assist with risk assessment and mitigation • Assist with technical audits and implementation of recommendations • Assist with M&A technical due diligence • Lead research and feasibility studies for emerging or successor technologies

🎯 Requirements

• At least 8 years’ experience of software development on both client and server-side applications • Hands-on experience of integration systems • Hands-on experience developing build and deployment pipelines, such as ADO and GitHub Actions • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code, such as Bicep or Terraform • Hands-on experience monitoring and resolving production issues • Aptitude and hunger to learn and adapt to changing cloud technologies • Proficient in at least one programming language such as C# .Net for desktop and cloud systems • Broad experience with and knowledge of cloud systems • Experience with IaaS and SaaS cloud architecture, such as Azure and Amazon Web Services • Ability to understand and translate product and business requirements into technical solutions • Logical and analytical mindset • Significant and demonstrable experience with scripting languages • Proven experience of project working and commercial development processes, particularly Agile methodologies • Experience working in an environment where products must be delivered to specific timescales • Experience with code repositories such as Git and SVN, bug tracking tools such as Jira and Bugzilla, and Wikis such as Confluence • Experience supporting, modifying and maintaining systems and code developed by other teams • Desirable: commercial development and direct customer experience • Desirable: expert knowledge of at least one programming language such as C# .Net • Desirable: application or solution migration strategies from on-premise datacentres to public clouds • Desirable: test-driven development, automated test frameworks, mocking/stubbing and XUnit • Desirable: Behaviour Driven Development with Gherkin • Desirable: RESTful and XML (SOAP) Web services • Desirable: JSON • Desirable: OAuth 2.0 • Desirable: mobile application development for Windows Phone, iOS or Android • Desirable: InstallShield 12 or above • Desirable: Crystal Reports and/or Microsoft Reports • Desirable: Power BI • Desirable: JIRA Configuration
