• Lead the “Interface Characterization” Core Facility • Conduct material analyses • Develop an independent research profile in the field of “Complex Fluids” • Contribute to research projects and scientific studies on polymers in solution • Publish in international journals and deliver scientific presentations • Apply for projects and secure third-party funding • Independently conduct courses in accordance with the applicable collective agreement • Supervise students undertaking bachelor’s theses, master’s internships, and master’s theses • Undertake administrative duties in research and teaching
• Completed doctoral degree in Chemistry or a related field • Extensive experience in polymer chemistry and materials characterization • Experience characterizing surfaces and interfaces using iGC, XPS, tensiometry, goniometry, BET, DSC/TGA–IR, zeta potential, DVS, particle-size analysis, foam analysis, GPC, rheology, and light scattering • Experience operating plastics-processing equipment and with composite-material manufacturing techniques is desirable • Outstanding publication record in peer-reviewed journals • Excellent written and spoken German and English • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills • Teaching experience, experience with e-learning, and experience supervising students
