📋 Description

• Improve search relevance for customers • Write faster queries • Improve the quality of ingested data • Evaluate and communicate better versus worse relevance decisions • Consume change events and update Elasticsearch mappings • Index data into new fields and support indexing a single document from multiple sources • Improve mapping, retrieval speed for recently changed data, and search boosting • Model data and understand the implications for indexing and querying • Enhance search performance and maintain high search speed • Design resilient solutions in a microservice environment • Use circuit breakers, bulkheads, sensible caching, and exponential backoff • Work with Kubernetes, gRPC, TypeScript, Node.js, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Kafka, and DataDog

🎯 Requirements

• Relevant experience of 7+ years as a Search Engineer • Knowledge of how a distributed search engine works • Experience with one of the well-known search engines in the market • Ability to run, monitor, debug, and operate Elasticsearch clusters and applications • Ability to write well-tested and reviewed code • Use of tangible facts and figures rather than guesses • Experience with A/B tests and defining appropriate metrics of success and failure for search features • Curiosity about developments in technology and search, including semantic search, NLP, LLMs, vectors, hybrid search, and machine learning • Desire to help others, share knowledge, and mentor others • Willingness to go the extra mile, give honest feedback, discuss, commit, and execute • Excellent written and spoken English skills
