📋 Description

• Take total ownership of client books from transaction categorization through final financial statements • Accurately categorize transactions using available resources before escalating to clients • Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, and clearing accounts monthly • Own each client’s month-end close process and deliver timely, accurate results • Prepare and maintain GAAP-compliant P&Ls, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, including accruals and adjusting entries • Build and refine charts of accounts, classes, locations, and product/service setups in QBO • Develop sound QBO workarounds to generate custom reporting views • Reconcile monthly Gusto, ADP, or Paychex payroll reports to QBO, including tips, commissions, and benefits • Prepare tax-ready books and year-end packages for CPAs • Maintain audit trails, internal controls, and documentation • Research receipts, historical patterns, vendor details, and prior communications before contacting clients • Translate complex accounting questions into clear, plain English • Batch client questions and provide clear context for efficient client responses • Draft and maintain SOPs to scale the accounting function • Identify manual tasks and collaborate on automated solutions • Potentially lead and review team bookkeepers and shape quality standards as the client expands

🎯 Requirements

• Active QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification with advanced, hands-on experience • 3+ years of direct accounting experience for U.S.-based businesses • Proven experience preparing U.S. GAAP-compliant financial statements and managing month-end closes • Experience reconciling payroll reports from systems such as Gusto, ADP, or Paychex • Fluent written and spoken English • Ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-financial clients • High attention to detail • Strong systems-thinking approach • Desire to automate routine processes • Prior experience in beauty & wellness, interior design, or brick-and-mortar service businesses preferred • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
