📋 Description

• Lead cross-functional delivery teams of 4–5 engineers • Report to the Head of Engineering • Own people development, including documented growth plans for every individual contributor • Ensure predictable delivery cadence and quality by surfacing risks, managing scope, and maintaining commitments • Maintain team health by addressing conflict, managing underperformance, and developing top performers • Partner with Product, Design, quality engineering, architecture, security, and other engineering teams • Provide technical direction on system design and architectural risks while removing blockers • Introduce and scale AI tools and workflows for code review, documentation, sprint planning, and debugging • Develop senior engineers and tech leads as the organization scales • Manage distributed teams through async communication, remote 1:1s, and distributed sprint ceremonies • Coordinate cross-functional delivery from estimation through release • Track AI adoption and improve measurable throughput without sacrificing quality • Deliver Year 1 outcomes including growth plans within 60 days, committed scope on cadence within 90 days, proactive retention management, documented performance management, and improved team AI enablement

🎯 Requirements

• Deeply AI-integrated experience, including use of Claude, Copilot, or similar AI workflows for code review, ticket writing, and development • Demonstrated experience creating career growth plans, handling difficult conversations, and managing underperformers through a structured process • Previous experience leading fully remote teams as the default work model • Direct and timely conflict resolution experience • Ability to use velocity, retention risk, and IC growth metrics to make people and delivery decisions • Technical credibility through code reviews, architectural input, and debugging support • Delegation and coaching skills; ability to build teams that make good decisions without manager bottlenecks • Commitment to people leadership as a primary craft
