📋 Description

• Lead cross-functional delivery teams of 4–5 engineers • Report to the Head of Engineering • Own people development, including documented growth plans for every individual contributor • Ensure predictable delivery, manage scope, surface risks early, and maintain commitments • Address team conflict directly and manage underperformance through a clear process • Protect and develop top performers • Partner with Product, Design, quality engineering, architecture, and security teams • Provide technical direction on system design and architectural risks while removing blockers • Introduce and lead AI tools and workflows for code review, documentation, sprint planning, and debugging • Develop the next generation of senior engineers and tech leads • Manage distributed communication, remote 1:1s, and distributed sprint ceremonies • Orchestrate delivery from roadmap estimation through release • Improve team velocity, predictability, AI adoption, and throughput without sacrificing quality • Track retention risks and engineer growth • Deliver year-one outcomes including growth plans within 60 days and committed-scope cadence within 90 days

🎯 Requirements

• Deeply AI-integrated experience; experience using Claude, Copilot, or similar AI workflows for engineering teams • Demonstrated experience building career growth plans and managing underperformance through a structured process • Previous leadership of fully remote teams as a default operating model • Direct and effective conflict resolution • Ability to use velocity, retention risk, and IC growth metrics to guide decisions • Technical credibility with code reviews, architectural input, and debugging • Delegation and coaching skills; ability to avoid becoming a decision bottleneck • Experience developing senior engineers and tech leads as teams scale • Ability to lead distributed teams across time zones and countries • Commitment to people leadership as a primary craft • English-language job posting; no explicit language requirement stated
