📋 Description

• Conduct procedural coding in accordance with coding rules, conventions, standards, and guidelines • Conduct diagnostic coding in accordance with coding rules, conventions, standards, and guidelines • Participate in quality enhancement initiatives to improve coding quality • Liaise with Coding Centre leadership regarding received clinical information • Ensure high-quality and timely clinical coding with high integrity

🎯 Requirements

• Clinical Coding qualification • Clinical coding experience • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and terminology • Knowledge of ICD-10, CSSA, and SADA rules and guidelines, with ability to apply them in the workplace • Knowledge of relevant coding systems, including ICD-10 books, latest CCSA coding books, clinical coding system (Encoder), South African Coding Master Industry Table (MIT), and Patient Administrative system • Knowledge of Clinical Coding and Coding Policies • Knowledge of SA ICD-10 Morbidity Coding Standards and Guidelines, WHO coding rules and conventions, PHISC ICD-10 and CCSA Coding Standards and Guidelines, and Mediclinic Coding Standards • Sound understanding of professional conduct • Communication and teamwork skills • Preference may be given under Mediclinic Southern Africa’s Employment Equity Plan and to internal applicants/employees who meet minimum requirements
