📋 Description

• Conduct procedural coding in accordance with coding rules, conventions, standards, and guidelines • Conduct diagnostic coding in accordance with coding rules, conventions, standards, and guidelines • Participate in quality enhancement and efficiency initiatives to improve coding quality and departmental output • Liaise with Coding Centre Leadership regarding the quality of clinical information received

🎯 Requirements

• Clinical Coding Qualification • Clinical coding experience • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and terminology • Knowledge of ICD-10, CSSA, and SADA rules and guidelines, with ability to apply them in the workplace • Knowledge of relevant coding systems, including ICD-10 books, latest CCSA coding books, Encoder, South African Coding Master Industry Table (MIT), and Patient Administrative System • Knowledge of clinical coding and coding policies • Knowledge of SA ICD-10 Morbidity Coding Standards and Guidelines, WHO coding rules and conventions, PHISC ICD-10 and CCSA Coding Standards and Guidelines, and Mediclinic Coding Standards • Understanding of professional conduct • Communication and teamwork skills
