📋 Description

• Own the technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Field Verification platform end to end • Set direction for a domain operating without dedicated engineering leadership • Move the platform from keep-the-lights-on operation to deliberate, prioritised development • Lead and grow the existing cross-functional team and build the organisation as scope expands • Build trip and route optimisation, task allocation and capacity management for field officers • Own APIs, webhooks and the back office used by other business units • Deliver a native mobile experience for field officers • Ensure verification data is structured, auditable and suitable for compliance scrutiny • Build the platform for multi-country expansion • Partner with Product and onboarding, loans, compliance and fraud business units • Define architecture standards, engineering processes and quality metrics • Hire and develop engineers and Engineering Managers

🎯 Requirements

• Built things hands-on and grew into leadership from engineering • Capability across backend, web and mobile • Experience building platforms used by several distinct user groups and internal business units • Adaptability and problem-solving across industries • 10+ years of overall software engineering experience • Substantial hands-on production engineering experience and strong backend depth • Experience with Java and Spring Boot • At least 5 years of engineering leadership experience, including managing Engineering Managers • Ability to collaborate with product and business stakeholders and translate operational requirements into engineering solutions • Experience with location and geospatial data, including map integrations, is a strong plus • Experience with route, trip or delivery optimisation is a strong plus • Experience building for compliance is a strong plus • Experience with identity, KYC or verification platforms is a plus; these are not requirements
