📋 Description

• Own the technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Rewards Platform end to end • Improve the performance, reliability and depth of the existing cashback product • Evolve cashback into a rewards, retention, engagement and personalisation platform • Build the engineering organisation, structure product units, hire engineers and Engineering Managers, and lead through managers • Establish an experimentation culture using A/B testing, cohort analysis and measurement • Work with Growth, Sales and Marketing on acquisition and retention initiatives • Own the customer-facing rewards experience across mobile and web • Define architecture standards, engineering processes and quality metrics • Own engineering health, including incidents, production defects, deployment frequency, change failure rate and developer experience • Build the platform to serve customers across multiple geographies • Partner with Product to define rewards metrics and OKRs • Report functionally to the Group CTO and maintain a dual reporting line to the Product leader for Rewards

🎯 Requirements

• Direct-to-consumer product engineering experience at scale • Experience building and shipping products used by large consumer audiences • Genuine front-end and mobile engineering depth • Experience leading or building consumer-facing mobile and web experiences • Hands-on experience with A/B testing, feature flagging and measurement frameworks • At least 5 years of experience managing managers • At least 10 years of overall software engineering experience • At least 5 years leading engineering teams through growth phases • Meaningful hands-on engineering experience and technical credibility • Comfort with Java and Spring Boot backend environments • Experience building and scaling an engineering organisation from a small base • Experience hiring and developing Engineering Managers • Strong collaboration with growth, marketing and sales stakeholders • Ability to translate business objectives into engineering work • Rewards, loyalty, gamification, personalisation or growth platform experience is advantageous but not required • Fintech or payments experience is advantageous but not required
