📋 Description

• Research US compliance across HR, payroll, and payments • Determine applicable compliance layers, required data points, exceptions, and conflicting obligations • Research statutes and official guidance, cite sources, and keep compliance knowledge current • Build AI workflows applying compliance rules to platform and document data • Surface issues with reasons and attached sources • Design systems for accuracy and abstention when inputs are insufficient • Own model governance, including prompt and model versioning, evaluation suites, and decision logging • Build internal applications for legal, compliance, and operations teams • Integrate with payroll engines, HR systems, and databases • Deploy, monitor, iterate, and document production systems • Own reliability, access control, and data handling • Work continuously with Niural's legal team and AI Product Manager • Use Claude Code and similar tools daily to ship quickly

🎯 Requirements

• 2+ years of software engineering experience • Strong in Python and/or TypeScript • Hands-on experience building and deploying real applications using FastAPI, Node, React/Next.js, or equivalent • Deep experience with LLM APIs including Anthropic and OpenAI, prompt engineering, function calling, and structured outputs • Experience building multi-step AI workflows or unattended agent systems • Experience implementing RAG architectures, vector databases, and document processing pipelines • Comfort with SQL/PostgreSQL and REST/webhook API integrations • Production deployment and operations experience with Docker, AWS, GCP, or Vercel • Fluency with Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot • Ability to research dense primary material and turn it into structured rules and edge cases • Ability to reason from compliance obligations to required data inputs • Ability to work without a specification and define problems independently • Intellectual honesty about ambiguity and ability to flag and escalate uncertainty • Clear writing and ability to work productively with lawyers
