📋 Description

• Own the backend of a white-label travel platform as it adds new verticals • Shape backend architecture and lead integrations for new verticals such as experiences and car rentals • Remain hands-on in code from idea through design, implementation, and real usage • Set technical standards and improve the platform foundations • Design modular backend foundations for future verticals and client customization • Identify and prioritize technical debt fixes while continuing to ship • Integrate third-party travel APIs and payment providers for reliable bookings • Build dependable schedulers, cron jobs, and workers as traffic grows • Maintain AWS infrastructure performance for client launches • Make backend decisions and work directly with the backend lead and engineering leadership • Contribute code in the first days and operate with substantial autonomy

🎯 Requirements

• 4 to 5 years in backend engineering • At least 2 years of full-time Node.js and TypeScript in production • Java or Python backgrounds welcome if followed by full-time Node.js experience • Experience designing REST APIs and relational schemas in PostgreSQL • Experience with background jobs, schedulers, or workers integrating with third-party systems • Approximately 2 years of hands-on AWS experience • Experience owning product outcomes beyond assigned tickets • Experience leading technical decisions for a team, or having been positioned to do so • Continues to write code daily • Comfortable with ambiguity, pace, responsibility, and incomplete information • Travel experience is helpful but not required • Experience in a fast-moving product company probably is
