📋 Description

• Lead the overall architecture and design of NVIDIA's global backbone network, including inter-DC connectivity, POP design, long-haul optical transport, and peering strategy. • Implement, manage, and troubleshoot the full backbone network stack, from optical layer through IP/MPLS and traffic engineering. • Automate backbone network infrastructure end-to-end, including circuit provisioning, capacity management, monitoring, and failure detection. • Design, build, and operate a highly reliable, scalable, and efficient backbone network interconnecting NVIDIA's global data centers, offices, and cloud environments. • Engineer optimized fiber paths and intelligent traffic routing for NVIDIA's DGX Cloud AI-training and research platform. • Support infrastructure for AI training clusters, GPU compute fabrics, and software development pipelines.

🎯 Requirements

• Expert knowledge of large-scale backbone networking technologies and protocols, including MPLS, SR-MPLS, BGP-LU, RSVP-TE, IS-IS, OSPF, MP-BGP, BFD, QoS, MACsec, and IPFIX/NetFlow. • Hands-on experience with backbone interconnect and optical transport technologies: DWDM, coherent optics, passive and active optical networking, OTN, and 400G/800G long-haul circuits. • Deep experience with peering and internet exchange: PNI, transit provider management, IXP connectivity, and BGP policy and traffic engineering at scale. • Ability to write and understand Python/Shell scripts and programs for automation, tooling, capacity planning dashboards, and network alarming. • Strong familiarity with backbone-class routing platforms such as Juniper MX/PTX, Cisco ASR/NCS, or equivalent carrier-grade systems. • Experience architecting, building, and operating a backbone or WAN network spanning multiple continents, serving thousands of machines and millions of traffic flows. • Hands-on experience with high-performance network optimization in highly-available, large-scale, multisite, international environments. • Great communication and presentation skills. • 8+ years of experience in network engineering, with substantial focus on backbone/WAN or carrier-grade environments. • BS Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. • Preferred/standout qualifications include tooling and automation for backbone provisioning, real-time monitoring, and capacity management; hyperscaler or major ISP/carrier-scale networking; traffic engineering and ECMP optimization; and segment routing, intent-based networking, or AIOps.
