📋 Description

• Design, build, and operate payment-domain services • Integrate payment gateways and implement payment intent, authorization, capture, refund, payout orchestration, and reconciliation flows • Implement onboarding/KYC integration, merchant configuration, settlement instructions, deductions, and invoicing/merchant-statement alignment • Build idempotency, ledgers/events, and audit trails for finance and compliance support • Integrate with PSP and partner tooling, including tri-party/sub-merchant considerations • Implement dispute/chargeback and fraud-handling workflows • Collaborate with Operations on runbooks and escalation paths • Partner with Product, Legal/Compliance, Finance, and Support to convert requirements into safe, testable production behavior • Improve automated testing, safe rollouts/canaries, observability, and incident response • Mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and contribute to shared standards and documentation

🎯 Requirements

• Strong backend engineering background in distributed systems, including microservices, async processing, resilient APIs, and eventual consistency • Production experience with payment flows, including authorization/capture/refund, webhooks, and reconciliation • Knowledge of money-correctness patterns such as idempotency keys, double-entry thinking, and auditability • Knowledge of PCI compliance, PII protection, secrets management, least privilege, and secure coding practices • Comfort working in an Azure-first environment with APIs, queues/eventing, and monitoring • Strong CI/CD and automated testing practices • Clear, confident communication with non-technical stakeholders in high-stakes scenarios • Experience with sub-merchant, marketplace, or Payfac-like operating models is strong-to-have • Familiarity with dispute tooling, card scheme rules, 3DS/risk rules, or fraud platforms is strong-to-have
