📋 Description

• Support and extend the existing Perl-based payment gateway by debugging production issues and adding features during migration • Design, develop, and maintain modern Python server-side components for high performance and scalability • Integrate third-party APIs and external payment services across legacy and modern platform layers • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across departments in agile sprints • Apply a product-focused mindset to understand business logic and user impact • Participate in code reviews and uphold high code quality standards • Contribute to continuous improvement • Work closely with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and cloud deployments • Help maintain 99.9% reliability of core transaction flows

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience with strong Python mastery • AsyncIO and FastAPI preferred • Experience with Perl, or genuine eagerness to learn and work within Perl production code • Solid experience integrating third-party APIs • Deep understanding of webhooks, callbacks, and retry policies • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred) • Docker containerization experience • Familiarity with AWS, including Lambda and cloud services • Exposure to event-driven architectures, Kafka, and message queues • Clean-code advocacy and ability to explain the reasoning behind shipped code • Strong written and verbal English communication skills • Ability to collaborate across multifunctional teams in agile sprints
